Comeian Richard Jeni Last Act Not Too Funny R.I.P.

Nothing funny about todays story. Further investigation reveals that comedian Richard Jeni, death in March was a suicide. Richard apparently had a history of mental illness and had been hospitalized late 2006 for suicidal depression. The coroner's report concludes that this was a self inflicted gun shot wound resulting in suicide. Jeni, 49, died at a hospital after being found in his Hollywood home on March 10. His girlfriend heard him talking to himself about a week earlier, saying "'just squeeze the trigger,"' according to the Los Angeles County coroner's office.

He was funny in life. Unfortunately, he picked a bad way to end it. R.I.P.

I think it was once said by Jim Carey that every successful comedian has a dark side. Some comedians draw on their dark side for creative purposes. In my opinion, their is a fine line between mental illness and creative artistic expression. Sounds like he crossed the line of no return.

I wonder what Pauley Shore would have to say about this?

A fine talent wasted. His website memorial has some real funny clips.

Lots of comedians end their lives this way. It's a shame, but for some reason, comedians do tend to battle depression. This is one case where I do agree with the blond bombshell aka Shell.

I had never heard of him until his death. So sad that he couldn't get the help he needed.

Could say he never quite got his act together.
