Steve McNair's Legacy To Be Overshadowed By Circumstances Of His Death?

Air McNair, Jordan like on the football field. Perhaps not as lucky off the playing field. Steve McNair, 36, was found murdered. He quarterbacked for 13 seasons in the NF, the majority with the Tennessee Titans. Now, both McNair and his pretty 20 year old girlfriend, Sahel Kazemi, were found shot to death in a condominium in downtown Nashville, Tennessee. McNair was shot twice in the head and twice in the chest. Kazemi was shot once in the head. The murder weapon was found under Kazemi's body which is most likely consistent with a murder-suicide. However, the investigation and autopsies are not complete.

McNair has a hero's image. But this married man with four children apparently had a secret side at the time of his death. McNair and Kazemi "apparently were involved in a dating relationship," according to investigators. Did something go wrong with this affair? Did someone decide to end the relationship with a gun?
There were no signs of forced entry. The condo was rented by McNair and Wayne Neeley, a sporting-goods dealer. Neeley discovered the clothed bodies Saturday afternoon. Steve McNair found shot to death. Neeley called a third party who called the police.

McNair's body was on a living room sofa. A semi-automatic pistol was found under Kazemi's body. McNair had apparently been at the Blue Moon Lagoon Bar and the Loser's Bar late Friday night. A Cadillac Escalade registered to Kazemi and McNair was in the condominium parking lot when McNair arrived at about 1:30 a.m on Saturday. Presumably, Kazemi was waiting for McNair when he arrived. As part of the investigation, Kazemi's former boyfriend is being interviewed; however he is not considered to be a suspect at this point in time.
Perhaps the affair should have hit the public eye much sooner. Two days earlier, Kazemi was pulled over for DWI while driving McNair in the Escalade. McNair left the scene of the arrest in a taxi. He later returned to the station and bailed out Kazemi. Just what was the NFL's co-MVP in 2003 thinking? What was McNair, always portrayed as a family man, thinking?
McNair played in the 2000 Super Bowl with the Titans. He spent his last two seasons with the Baltimore Ravens. He officially retired from football in April 2008. McNair played his collegiate ball at Alcorn State in Mississippi. He was a true grid iron hero who was portrayed as a role model for young people all across the country. Now, he is likely to be remembered as an adulterer and another senseless victim of domestic violence.

If you choose to play, chances are sooner or later you are going to pay!

Sahel thought he would divorce his wife and marry her. She would have done anything for Steve. She even chauffeured him around and got a DWI to prove it.

Now I doubt she would shoot Steve unless he had it coming to him. That's my thought.

How does 5 shots ring out from a semi-automatic weapon inside an upscale condominium complex and nobody calls the police?

My theory is that one of these two women was very upset with Mr. McNair. The girlfriend that just found out about the wife, or the wife that just found out about the girlfriend? You make the call!

How about if he told his girlfriend he would'nt leave his wife. Girlfriend gets ticked off and shot the heck out of Steve then killed herself. Seems like its possible. Sad really sad.

Remember young men that there is no bomb or weapon or disease that can inflict the pain and suffering on a man (both mental and physical) that a woman can.

In 2003 Mcnair was stopped for a DWI. A yahoo article about the stop says that "A 9-millimetre handgun for which McNair had a permit was reportedly found in a compartment in the front seat."

Those who live by the sword, may very well die by the sword.... no one need a handgun in their vehicle.

Back when he had an afro, he was sometimes called "Hair McNair." May he R.I.P.

What does a 36 year old expect when he chooses to lead a separate life with a child of only 20?

Call an ace an ace and a pretender a pretender. He was apparently just pretending to be a family man as he had a 20-year-old girlfriend on the side. The girl worked as a waitress at a restaurant visited by McNair, his wife and their four sons. McNair and Sahel Kazemi often hung out at his downtown condominium and at her apartment.

Not long ago, she traded her Kia to a black 2007 Cadillac Escalade.
Last Thursday, they were stopped by police in the Escalade registered to her and McNair. She got hit up for driving under the influence and refusing to take a breath test. She told cops that she was high but not drunk. McNair took a taxi from the scene. He later bailed his girl out.

Internet photos of the couple show them parasailing earlier this year.

So becareful before assuming we know "our heroes." McNare contradicts everything a hero is supposed to stand for. Happily-married, family man, Prince of Charity? Give me a break.

What we have is a grisly product of adultry. Dating for several months while you are married is hazardous to the health. Perhaps the Surgeon General needs to spell it out for the ignornant.

Kazemi's former boyfriend, Keith Norfleet, is being questioned as to his knowledge of the affair. According to Norfleet, he dated Sahel for four years before breaking up five months ago. (That's about when she began dating McNair.) Sahel worked at Dave & Buster's. McNair went their with his family pretending to be a family man. But we all can see where deception leads...

Keith Norfleet got nothin to do with this crime.

I have to agree with anon 10:04. He played and unfortunately he payed. It's a tragedy all the way around for both families. There are now four children without a daddy and a family grieving for a 20-year old. Divorce is legal you know ...

Thanks Legal (for the plug) and thanks video guy.

TMZ's timeline....

- Kazemi was pulled over for DUI Thursday morning between 1-1:30 AM. McNair was a passenger but was allowed to leave the scene via taxi with another person. Kazemi admitted to being high.

-Thursday night, Kazemi purchased a semi-automatic pistol. Police will not say who she got the gun from.

- Early Saturday morning, McNair meets Kazemi at his Nashville condo.

- 1:30 PM Saturday, 911 call is made alerting police of the shootings. Police believe bodies were actually discovered before 1 PM -- cops are "concerned" about the time lapse.

Cops are still waiting for ballistics tests and gunshot residue reports to classify Kazemi's death.

I think its safe to say the wife probably didnt do it.

They implicated the wife initially because the McNairs home was on the market. They thought they were getting a divorce. Turns out they were upgrading to a crib by the lake.

I think it was a murder suicide.

Yup, looks like murder suicide as Legal Pub eluded to in the story...

How does he do it....

LOL.

People have done horrible things to other people since the beginning of mankind. People have cheated on their significant others forever. For anyone to point to the McNair murder as another example of the moral decay of our society is nuts. The same story has been repeated for hundreds of centuries and it is not going to change any time soon. Don't blame this one on modern society.

This guy wasn't playing with fire he was playing Russian Rullet (only this time there were five bullets in the round and one empty). This goes to show that some extra marital creeping can cost you more than your marriage. It's a sad affair (no pun intended) all around.

McNair?.....you're right...men have been cheating since the beginning of time....

And everytime they do..its an example of the moral decay in our society.

He shouldnt have been have been messing with a young girl! Thats where he went wrong. He should have chosen an older "jump off."

A 40 year old side piece doesnt want the drama (marriage, stalking etc). She just wants to go on trips and wants her bills paid.

He threw his life away for some stray p***y. Its a damn shame!!
