Lance Cpl Lauterbach Murdered by Cpl. Cesar Armando Laurean or A Suicide With Laurean Assisting in Burial? Update 4-11-08 - by Legal Pub
Lance Cpl. Maria Lauterbach remains were found buried in a shallow grave in Cpl. Cesar Armando Laurean's backyard. Spattered blood was found inside Corporol Laurenan's home.
Lauterbach, 20, was eight months pregnant when she was reported missing from Camp Lejeune, North Carolina on December 19. The baby is believed to be fathered by Laurean. Lauterbach had accused Cpl. Cesar Armando Laurean of rape. Lauterbach was to be a key witness for the prosecution. Laurean is the prime suspect in her murder. He left a note for his wife apparently indicating that Lauterbach killed herself but he had buried her. Authorities disagree. Police are actively hunting for him according to Onslow County Sheriff Ed Brown. Cpl. Laurean is pictured here. He is considered armed and dangerous. He is, however, to be considered innocent until proven guilty.
Update 4-11-08: Cpl. Cesar Laurean, suspected of killing pregnant Marine Lance Cpl. Maria Lauterbach, has been captured in Mexico. He is a duel citizen of both Mexico and the U.S. When a Mexican reporter asked if he killed Lauterbach, Laurean said "I loved her." Extradition to the U.S. could take several months.
