Phthalates Suspected Of Harming Infant Reproductive System? by Surfer Dude
A new report out of Chicago may indict baby shampoos, lotions and powders as suspects in harming infants! These products may expose infants to chemicals linked with possible reproductive problems. So far it is just one study, however the study does point the finger at phthalates.
Phthalates, are chemicals found in many ordinary products such as cosmetics, toys, vinyl flooring and medical supplies. Pythalates are used to stabilize fragrances and make plastics flexible. What should parents do now? Just use common sense until more is known. To the extent reasonable, limit an infants putting plastic toys in their mouth. Keep perfumes and fragrances away from infants. Don't go over board on the baby powder if for no other reason, it can make you sneeze.
Use common sense and you will not have to share the dunce cap that I had to wear growing up.

If I could only be half the "dunce" you are, Surfer Dude, I could rewrite many of the rules of our universe.

Now I have to wory about Phthalates too!

Given the loophole that allows these products to contain untested ingredients and ingredients known to be harmful (lead? mercury? hello?) - I've made the switch to simpler/gentler/natural products. (I know - mercury is natural too - but I prefer not to have it in my mascara.)
Colleency, you are so right!
Surfer Dude!
Maybe that is why I am childless?
Ever stop to think that you might be childless because you are ugly!
