Could Ricin Poisoning Effect Length of Stay at an Extended Stay American Hotel or At Hospital? - story by Ralph
Does an Extended Stay America Hotel live up to it's name? In Nevada, authorities apparently arrived at the Extended Stay America hotel in Nevada after a man brought a small container to the manager's office. The man apparently found it while retrieving items from a hotel room.
Normally, not a big thing. But in this case it was apparently poison. It's "100 percent ricin," said Capt. Joe Lombardo of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. It is unknown who owns the ricin and why it was there. Three hotel employees and a fourth person were taken to the hospital as a precaution according to CNN. Three police officers are also being observed. None have shown symptoms of ricin poisoning, which can include anything from difficulty breathing, fever, cough, etc. In sum, it may be one way to increase the average stay of an occupant, but it is not a good way.
3-1-08 Legal Pub Update: Firearms and an "anarchist type textbook" were found in the same motel room. The room's most recent occupant was a 57-year-old man who has been in critical condition with breathing problems at a hospital for more than two weeks. There was no apparent link to terrorist activity. Why ricin was present is a mystery that needs solving!
Update 2-18-10: To comment any further on this story, you will need to email legalpub@legalpub.net. Comments will be posted appropriately. Unfortunately, spammers otherwise dominate the thread and abuse posting privileges.

Machete Crime In Australia Backfires! ~ Legal Pub
Stupid criminals who attempt stupid crimes are a world wide phenomena. In the U.S., we have had two recent incidents with Machete attacks: the Dr. Faugley murder LINK and the Tommy Flores murder of his grandma LINK . But in Australia, this machete attack is beyond stupidity. Two masked, machete-wielding men attempted to rob a club in Sydney, Australia. Unfortunately for them, it was during a monthly meeting of bikers. About 50 bikers more than adequately defended themselves with tables and chairs. The end result? One would-be robber was tied up and the other sent to the hospital. Both were arrested by police.
Jerry Vancornewal, leader of the bikers, told CNN, "these guys were absolutely dumb as bricks. I can't believe they saw all the bikes parked up front and they were so stupid that they walked past in."

Take Two and Electronic Arts, Inc. A Needless Match?
Admittedly, the game is fun. But it is not a good example for anyone playing the game. The object is to steal cars, dodge rival gangs bullets and complete missions including the transportation of prostitutes. $2 Billion buy out? Society should mandate that such poor influences on society should not be worth two cents. Regardless, does Electronic Arts, which makes quality EA Sports games, need such a violent arrow in its quiver? Violence in todays society suggests not.

Lessons That Distinguish Preeclampsia From Murder?
Leatrice Brewer reminds us that mothers can kill babies. A girl, 6, and two boys, ages 5 and 1, were found dead in a bed wearing their night clothes after their mother (Leatrice Brewer) called police early Sunday. According to Lt. Michael Fleming, she apparently admitted to killing the children. Leatrice Brewer, 27, apparently called 911, and said, "she killed her babies." Fleming said.
When officers arrived, she jumped out a second-floor window of the building.
In the past, another case was that of Andrea Yates. Yates allegedly drowned her five children in the family's Houston bathtub in 2001. LaShaun Harris was accused of tossing her three young sons into San Francisco Bay in 2005. Both stood trial on murder charges but were declared legally insane. In sum, mothers can kill babies.

Ian Mercado Apparently Is Lone Witness To Carnage in Orland and Nicole Cho Household Update 3-14-08
Carnage caused by the deterioration of the family unit continues. Ian Mercado, a 14-year-old boy apparently was the lone survivor of what police believe was a murder-suicide. Five of the boys family members are dead. A neighbor called 911 late Saturday to report gun shots. When police arrived, , the teen said his father had shot him and his brother. The condo complex is located in Yorba Linda, about 40 miles southeast of Los Angeles.
Three children were dead from gunshot wounds. The mother was found dead on the doorstep, according to Lt. Jack Conklin of the Brea Police Department. Authorities believe the father was the gunman. Dead are Orland Cho, 41; Maricel Cho, 39; Nicole Cho, 9; Kathleen Cho, 8; and Christopher Cho, 5. The surviving teen, Ian Mercado, is believed to be the woman's son from a previous relationship.
Ian Mercado, was shot in the lower torso and underwent surgery at a hospital. Police can't interview him until Monday because he remained sedated. He gave police a brief statement at the scene, recounting what he told the 911 dispatcher. He was unaware that his mother and sisters had also been shot.
Jun Cho, a cousin, apparently told the A.P. that Orland Cho was overworked and frustrated with a troubled marriage. Cho apparently grew up in the Philippines. Cho worked long hours in the cargo department at Los Angeles International Airport. Later he worked selling cell phones and life insurance. According to his cousin, he could never make his wife happy. But Jun Cho told the newspapers, "He loved his kids... They were the most precious thing that ever happened to him."
Update 3-14-08: According to police, “Everything points so far that it was (the stepfather) who pulled the trigger, but we want to be sure the physical evidence supports what his testimony is."Apparently more than five shots were fired. Mercado apparently had a wound on one of his hands in addition to his torso. A neighbor reported shots fired and two minutes later Mercado called 911, saying his father shot him and his brother.Police found three children and two adults dead.
Los Angeles County and Orange County records indicate that Orland Cho was charged with fraud and possessing a gun whose identifying marks had been removed in 1994, but both cases were dismissed. He was charged with speeding and driving under the influence in 1995; he was convicted on the speeding charge but the DUI was dismissed.
The couple apparently separated in 2004. Maricel apparently applied for welfare assistance; however, it was determined that Orland was able to pay child support. The agency apparently got Cho to agree to pay back the payments the county had made to his family.
Nicole, Kathleen and Christopher attended Mabel Paine Elementary School. Nicole, a fourth-grader, excelled in every subject especially math. Kathleen, a straight-A third-grader, excelled in art. Christopher, a kindergartner, had recently received a certificate for good behavior. Ian, an eighth-grader at Yorba Linda Middle School, is a good student who is popular.
Neighbor Debbie Bellerose told KCLA9 TV. “How bad can life be, but there are things that you can do to help yourself, it doesn’t have to come to this." Yorba Linda is a an almost crime-free suburb in Orange County. The city rarely has a single homicide in a year. CNN lists the city as the 21st best place in the US (the second highest-ranked California city in the survey.) Yorba Linda is also the richest US city according to Census data showing median household income of $121,075. Yorba Linda may never be the same.

Kelvin Sampson Resigns From Indiana University. Dan Dakich Interim Coach Update 3-29 Bennett offered, Tom Crean Accepts!
Ok, stop! An article on the dismissal of Coach Kelvin Sampson at Indiana University can now be shared. Is winning every thing? Ask IU alumni and you may be shocked at the difference in opinions. What happened at IU? An NCAA report accused Sampson of five "major" violations. The report claimed Sampson gave "false or misleading information" to investigators. It all starts with allegations of Sampson making prohibited phone calls to recruits while he was still under recruiting restrictions because of a similar episode at Oklahoma. According to the report sent to IU, Sampson "failed to deport himself ... with the generally recognized high standard of honesty" and "failed to promote an atmosphere for compliance within the men's basketball program."
Athletic director Rick Greenspan promised that IU would cooperate with all NCAA requests.
"It's regrettable, to say the least, that we are in this position, in regards to these allegations... I personally and professionally am profoundly disappointed that there is even a hint of inappropriate behavior," said Greenspan.
Sampson originally responded,"The allegations that I knowingly acted contrary to the sanctions that occurred while I was at Oklahoma are not true... I have never intentionally provided false or misleading information to the NCAA. I intend to work within the NCAA process on this matter, and I look forward to my opportunity to do so."
On Friday, February 22, 2008 Coach Sampson was suspended by IU. He immediately resigned and signed a release of all claims in exchange for $750,000. Approximately $550,000 was coincidently pledged to IU as a donation by an anonymous donor. IU's next step is to try to salvage team unity and finish the season under interim coach Dan Dakich. The search for a permanent coach will likely begin within the next seven days.As for Sampson, he will likely lay low before circulating a revised resume.
Update 3-25-08:The Dakich experiment was a disaster. Indiana lost its first game in the Big 10 Tournament and in the NCAA Tournament. Comments as to possible coaches appears in the comment section.
Update 3-29-08: WSU coach Tony Bennett has been offered the head coaching job at IU. LINK. While IU expected Bennett to accept the offer and return to the midwest at the school his sister once coached in basketball, he declined. (Keep in mind, the procedure is that an University's agent or attorney contacts the coach's attorney and no direct discussions are held between the University and a prospective coach. That way if it doesn't work out either or both sides can say they never spoke to each other about the job) One way or another, IU will have a new coach inked within 9 days.
Update 4-2-08: Tom Crean has been hired as coach of the Indiana Hoosiers.

Mark Jensen Convicted Of Murdering His Wife; Drew Peterson Scrutinized for Death of Kathleen Savio Update 4-24-08
A seven women and five men jury deliberated for three days., ultimately resulting in the conviction of Mark Jensen. The trial lasted six weeks. Post verdict, bail was immediately revoked. Watch the drama in the courtroom »
The conviction carries a mandatory life sentence. Whether parole will ever be possible will be decided at the sentencing hearing. Julie Jensen, 40, was found dead in her bed nearly 10 years ago. Prosecutor Robert Jamois was pleased with the decision. According to the prosecution, Julie Jensen was poisoned by ethylene glycol, the main ingredient in antifreeze.
A key piece of evidence was a letter from Julie Jensen in the possession of a neighbor which in essence implicated her husband should anything ever happen to her. Her son's teacher also testified as to Julie saying she thought her husband was trying to kill her. Mark Jensen, 48, was charged in 2002 with first-degree murder because of the December 1998 death of his wife. Jensen was allegedly having an affair at the time he supposedly poisoned his wife. Expect Mark to file an appeal!
Update 4-24-08 Mark Jensen has been sentenced to life. YOUTUBE VIDEO LINK
In an unrelated case, a new autopsy has apparently concluded that Drew Peterson's third wife died because of a homicide. Guess a homicide investigation will now begin which as we all know, usually starts with questioning the husband. The second report on Kathleen Savio’s 2004 death included photos and reports from the initial investigation. It also includes results from microscopic examinations and toxicological tests. Will County State’s Attorney James Glasgow said, “We have been investigating this as a murder since reopening the case in November of last year. We now have a scientific basis to formally and publicly classify it as such.” Savio was found dead in her bathtub shortly before her divorce settlement with Peterson was final. A coroner’s jury ruled after the first autopsy that her death was accidental. Peterson is a possible suspect in the disappearance of his fourth wife, Stacy Peterson. Drew Peterson said she ran off with another man. Peterson denies all wrong doing! Exclusive interview with Joel Brodsky HERE
12-3-10: Jensen's conviction has been upheld on appeal.

Navy Hits Satellite While Jacob Jett May Have Tried To Place A Hit On His Parents. Science Fiction in Both Cases or Reality? - by Legal Pub
Last night the Navy hit a disabled satellite with a Missile. While China watches for dangerous fallout, Russia claims it was a cover up of the real motive to test the missile defense system. Mean while, a Missouri teen ager is experiencing the fall out from apparently trying to put a "hit" on his adopted parents. Jacob A. Jett, 18 is a high school senior. Jett is accused of trying to pay hit men $260 to kill his adoptive parents, Richard and Robyn Parnell. Many people including the Parnells are surprised because he had always been a "very good child." Jett allegedly gave the money and three handguns to two men as part of the plot to kill Richard and Robyn Parnell. "He thought they were too strict" and wanted to inherit money according to the Jackson County prosecutor, Jim Kanatzar.
Joseph R. Garcia, a fellow student is accused of introducing Jett to the would-be hit men. Jett and his friend were charged with second-degree attempted murder and armed criminal action. Jett and Garcia are held in lieu of $250,000 cash bonds. Both are presumed innocent until otherwise proven in a court of law.
Finally, speaking of parenting, there was a false sighting of the missing McCann child in France.

Brianna Denison Apparently Raped And Strangled By Serial Rapist Who Is Taunting Police. Is James Biela Her Killer? ~ by Legal Pub
Brianna Denison was a Santa Barbra City college student. She left the California college to visit her home town over winter break. She was sleeping on a friend's sofa near the University of Nevada when she disappeared. Brianna's body was apparently found. She had been raped and then strangled aby someone police believe is a serial rapist in Reno. DNA evidence apparently links Denison's kidnapping to two other attacks on women late last year. An earlier attack may also be related. In the earlier attack, a man raped a woman at gunpoint in a garage where University of Nevada campus police park their squad cars. The earliest victim apparently described the suspect as a white male between ages 28 and 40 and at least 5 feet 6. He has a long face and brown hair. Police opine that the killer's familiarity with the city suggests he likely lives in Reno. The killer probably lives near the campus just north of the downtown casino district or on the northwest side. He may work close to the city's southeast side where the body was found.
A black thong with a Pink Panther emblem was apparently left behind by the serial rapist to taunt police, according to Chief Michael Poehlman. The underwear did not belong to Brianna Denison. The underwear appears to contain the DNA of two people. One of the DNA sample is consistent with the DNA associated with two other sexually motivated crimes.

Tommy Flores Hacks Grandma (Eva Flores)To Death & Shoots Another Woman? - by Legal Pub
A major problem with publicizing gruesome crimes such as Dr. Faughey's murder is that unstable people might imitate the crime. For example, Tommy Flores, a San Antonio man, has been charged with capital murder. Eva Flores, his grandmother, was found hacked to death with a meat cleaver. Supposedly Tommy Flores killed his grandmother because she disapproved of him bringing home Angelita Jones. (According to an affidavit in support of arrest) Tommy Flores, 30, was first arrested Monday on an outstanding warrant. Subsequently, police charged him with the deaths of his grandmother, 74-year-old Eva Flores and a second woman.
Tommy Flores apparently told police that he attacked his grandmother because she disapproved of the woman Flores brought home. Flores and his Grandmother lived on the 220 block of Caddo Street near Interstate 35 and Palo Alto Street on the south side of San Antonio. Eva Flores died of severe cuts to her neck while the second woman was found with a single gunshot wound to the head. Police found a bloody meat cleaver and a .357 Magnum revolver. Police arrested Flores later in the day at an east-side motel on an outstanding arrest warrant. Flores was later charged with capital murder and is being held on $500,000 bond.
Both Eva Flores and Angelita Jones, mother of five children will be missed by their loved ones. May they rest in peace. Flores, like all suspects is to be considered innocent until proven guilty.
Update 1-3-11: In the fall, Flores plead guilty in exchange for a waiver of the death penalty. Flores is now sentenced to life in prison without the possiblity of parole. Our deepest sympathy to the family and friends of the victims.

Robert Burck a.k.a. the Naked Cowboy Sues Mars Inc Over M & M Commercial. Update 10-5-10
For some time, Robert Burck (a.k.a. the Naked Cowboy) has been a regular in Times Square. Apparently his presence has been documented for nearly a decade. Burck is originally from Cincinnati. He plays a white guitar clad only in underwear briefs. Burck poses for pictures with tourists and sings in his briefs, despite the weather. Recently M & M s Candy has used an image similar to Burck in it's adds. Burch has struck back by filing a law suit seeking $6 million in damages. Defendants Mars Inc. and Chute Gerdeman Inc., (an Ohio agency that created the ad) deny any trademark infringement.
The M&M does appear to dress similar to the 'The Naked Cowboy.' The M.M. also plays a white guitar in the cartoon. One wonders if that will be enough to warrant six million dollars worth of compensation?
Update 6-24-08: Preliminary victory for the Naked Cowboy! A preliminary ruling by U.S. District Judge Denny Chin (New York judge) determined that he can proceed with his trademark infringement lawsuit against the candy maker and its ad agency. AP Photos Courtesy of Getty Images
Update 10-5-10: According to the New York Post, Robert John Burck is set to announce his presidential bid. Let's hope he does better than when he tried to run for mayor.

Senseless Tragedy Strike Northern Illinois University Resulting in Seven Deaths
Senseless tragedy strikes Northern Illinois University in Dekalb. University President John Peters said four people died at the scene, including three students and the gunman. Two others died shortly there after at a hospital. Another has also died making the total seven.
Peters said the gunman was a former graduate student in sociology at NIU. The gunman's name has not been identified, but we are told he was not currently enrolled at the 25,000-student campus. "It appears he may have been a student somewhere else," University Police Chief Donald Grady elaborated. No motive for the skinny gunman, dressed in black and wearing a stocking cap, was given. He emerged from behind a screen on the stage of 200-seat Cole Hall and started shooting just as the class was about to end around 3 p.m. Legal Pub has heard that the gun man had an interest in "prisons" and "religion in prisons." To date, it is believed that he had no criminal record.
Lauren Carr and Jerry Santoni were two of the estimated 150 students present at the time of the shooting. Neither Carr nor Santoni were shot. Approximately 18 to 20 students were; however, wounded. Dan Parmenter, a 20-year-old sophomore from Elmhurst, Ill., was one of those killed. George Gaynor, a senior geography student, described the shooter as "a skinny white guy with a stocking cap." The shooter carried a shotgun and a pistol.
The shooting was the fourth at a U.S. school within a week. On Feb. 8, a woman shot two fellow students before committing suicide at Louisiana Technical College in Baton Rouge. In Memphis, Tenn., a 17-year-old is accused of shooting a fellow student during a high school gym class. A 15-year-old victim of a shooting at an Oxnard, Calif., junior high school has been declared brain dead.
The madness needs to stop. Please feel free to use the comment information to provide information about the victim or gunman for closure or just to vent.
Update 2-15: Apparently the Chicago tribune has tentatively identified the shooter as a 27-year-old graduate student at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. His name is believed to be Steve Kazmierczak. See Chicago Tribune for more details.

Jesus Was The First Surfer and Horses Are Catholic ~by Surfer Dude
Legal Pub has updated the 6-19-07 Pony Tail Bandit article to document the capture of Morgan Michelle Hoke in Thailand. The photo above is at the imigration office after her captured in Thailand. Hoke is believed to be the Pony Tail Bandit. LINK Her newly wed husband is also a suspected accomplice. Thanks Ms. Calabaza for the scoop.
Update 6-19-08: Morgan Michell Hoke had good news recently.
The so-called “Ponytail Bandit” had one of the cases against her dismissed in California last month. Morgan Hoke is accused of a string of bank robberies in the Austin area, California and Washington state. A judge in Los Angeles dismissed the case against her there. She is expected to be tried in federal court in Sacramento later this year.
Today; however, we are blessed with a guest story by California Surfer Dude. Thanks Surfer Dude for sharing your enlightenment:
Ian Coburn writes God is A Woman. But I tell you that Jesus was the first surfer because he walked on water and horse are CATHOLICs.
One day at the track while playing the ponies, I noticed a priest who stepped out onto the track and blessed the forehead of one of the horses lining up for the 4th race. That horse, who was a very long shot, won the race. Before the next race, I saw the old priest step onto the track and bless another horse in the 5th race. The blessed horse again won despite being a long shot. In the 6th race, I bet big on the horse blessed by the priest. The horse won and I collected a handsome purse.
The priest kept blessing horses and I kept winning. Understand, for a surfer dude, I now had some serious cash. I withdrew every cent I owned from the ATM, took all my loot and waited for the priest to give his blessing before the last race. True to his pattern, the priest stepped onto the track for the last race and blessed the forehead of an old nag that was the longest shot of the day. In fact, I saw the priest bless the old nag’s eyes, ears, and hooves. I bet everything on the old nag who was a 1000 to 1 to win. Imagine my dismay when the old nag come in dead last.
My first instinct was to confront the priest, “Father! What happened? All day long you blessed horses and they all won. Then in the last race, the horse you blessed lost by a
The priest nodded wisely and with sympathy said, "Son," he said, "That's the problem with you Protestants, you can't tell the difference between a simple blessing and last rites."
From this experience, I learned that the Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away. I also learned that I wish I would have gone to a Catholic school as a kid. If I had, I would be surfing in

Dr. Kathryn Faughey Apparently Hacked To Death David Tarloff Arrested? Update 2-18 Case Solved?
New York's Upper East Side may never be the same. 56-year-old psychiatrist Kathryn Faughey was apparently hacked to death with a meat cleaver by a middle aged blond haired male. It is not clear if the killer was a patient. Dr. Kent Shinback, a male therapist apparently attempted to assist Faughey during the attack. Shinback was also seriously cut in the face by the suspect. Shinback was taken to New York-Presbyterian Hospital Weill/Cornell. Shinback is in serious condition. The killer apparently left his suit cases in the basement and then escaped through a basement exit.
Dr. Kathryn Faughey was apparently a well respected, licensed psychologist. She practiced cognitive behavioral therapy which focused on changing thoughts that cause feelings or behaviors. She was married to Walter Adam, an attorney. (The above photos are of a friend interviewed by police who is not at the present considered to be a suspect, the surveillance video of the suspect, the sketch of the suspect, and a demonstrative meat cleaver.)
Update 2-13-08:The attack shocked the city's large community of mental health professionals."This is, I think, an extraordinary occurrence," said Sharon Brennan, a psychologist in Manhattan and a spokeswoman for the New York State Psychological Association. "It has had a shocking impact on the whole New York community."Alexandra Pike, who lives across the street apparently allowed a news photographer to shoot the scene from her family's apartment. Faughey's web site indicated that she treated patients for relationship issues, coping with breakups, anxiety, panic attacks, stress over job changes and online intimacy.
Police have apparently recovered three knives from the scene, including the cleaver and a 9-inch knife. A suitcase on wheels filled with women's clothing and adult diapers was also recovered. A bag with eight smaller knives not used in the attack were apparently also found. According to Paul Browne (police spokesman), "The condition of the room was that of a fierce struggle... There was blood on the floor and on the walls."
According to Fox News, the man was wearing a green overcoat and baseball hat. He arrived at the office about 8 p.m. supposedly saying he had an appointment with Dr. Kent Shinbach, a geriatric psychiatrist who worked in the same suite with Dr. Faughey. According to police, the suspect walked past a doorman and into the waiting room. As he assaulted, Dr. Faughey, Dr. Shinbach apparently struggled with the suspect. The suspect attacked Shinbach and pinned him to the wall with a chair. He told Shinbach that he knew where he lived and took his wallet.
In a 2004 New York Times interview, Faughey adviced those breaking up to, "In the old days it was burn the letters," she said. "Today, clear the hard drive."
Update 2-14-08: Physical profile: 5'9" 200 lbs. Mid 40's. Balding. Mental profile: Since Dr. Faughey's patients were mostly female, Legal Pub projects that the killer, may have been a boyfriend or spouse of a patient or a patient. The killer is intelligent and meticulous as to detail. (He had all the tools and some left over.) This killing was planned. Since it turns out that there were prints, it was not a professional killer. But it may still have been done by someone with experience in killing.
Update 2-15-08: On Thursday, police questioned and released a Pennsylvania man Dr. Faughey had offered to help with personal problems. Dr. Faughey mentioned him in a recent message, sent about a half-hour before she was killed. Detectives interviewed William Kunsman in Pennsylvania on Thursday. He was not considered a suspect. The man had met Dr. Faughey at a guitar camp several years ago. The man said that he hadn't even heard about Dr. Faughey's death. Have N.Y. police obtained a court order for the patient records which are apparently protected by HIPAA?
Second 2-15 Update: WABC apparently reported that the surviving victim may have identified a suspect. The District Attorney will obviously await forensic evidence before considering any arrest. (See link below.) William Kunsman had nothing to do with the murder. Kunsman is completely innocent and clearly explained to the press that he had nothing to do with her death. LINK William Kunsman looks different then the sketch, the surveilance video, and does not match the physical description of the killer. His wife can verify where he was at the time of the killing. Kunsman is not the killer. Kunsman was home Tuesday night playing with his kids and is completely innocent!
Update 2-16-08: Profilest has provided a theory that the killer was an ex- lover of a patient or a patient who used Dr. Faughey to help with a break up. The adult diapers made in Pennsylvania can be purchased on the internet. Profilest feels that an erroneous concentration on Kunsman may have distracted the focus of the investigation. This could be criminal behavior triggered by rage which Legal Pub's Proposal to Reduce Domestic Violence was designed to reduce. If it turns out that divorce or post break up dispute concerning children caused the killer to snap, then this topic can be explored in more detail.
Update 2-16-08 Afternoon: Major break! Police are apparently questioning a former patient of Faughey's colleague. Police are apparently awaiting forensic evidence including fingerprints found at the bloody crime scene before formal charges are made. However, the former patient is believed to be a 39 year old telemarketer living in Queens. He is round faced and balding like the suspect in the surveillance video. He may have been treated in the past by 70-year-old Dr. Kent Shinbach and evaluated by Dr. Faughey. Was the suspect mad at Dr. Kathryn Faughey over a decision that sent him to a mental institution? He has a rather long history of mental complications. Apparently police are holding the suspect but have yet to charge him. It's unclear why Shinbach did not immediately recognize the suspect! The killer's entrance and exit through the building was caught on security cameras. It is also believed that the killer had visited the offices approximately 90 minutes before he returned for the killing. Security cameras had filmed the killer in his earlier visit walking through the front door and exiting through the basement.
Update 2-18-08: 39-year-old telemarketer David Tarloff apparently fits the physical description of the suspect. Supposedly, he was once a patient of Dr. Kent D. Shinbach, the surviving victim of the attack. He reportedly has a history of mental illness and violent behavior according to the New York Times. Tarloff was arrested for Dr. Faughey's murder. He apparently told police that he had intended to rob the Kent Shinbach. (Shinback had apparently institutionalized Tarloff 17 years ago. Tarloff then planned to take his mother and flee the U.S. (Tarloff's mother was in a nursing home, which explains the diapers and women's clothing.) The police apparently have their man! Good job N.Y.P.D.! (Photo of arrest courtesy of CBS)

Should Joshua White Be Prosecuted For Alleged Negligent Baby Sitting?
Baby sitting must be different in Georgia. 26 year old Joshua White was apparently baby-sitting his girl friends 3 year old son. White's gun was some where in the home. (What kind of a neighborhood requires that a baby sitter has to have a gun?) A 3 year old apparently got a hold of the gun and shot himself above the eye. The child is expected to live; however, DeKalb County police have arrested White. DeKalb County police spokesman J.T. Ware says 26-year-old Joshua White called 911 after the boy was wounded.
Neighbor Lonnie Montgomery said, "I think parents need to watch their kids more often, pay more attention to their children because anything can happen when you have guns around the house." White was arrested after police say they received conflicting stories on how the shooting happened. White has been charged with making false statements, tampering with evidence and reckless conduct.White has been released on bond. Joshua White is presumed innocent until proven otherwise in a court of law.

A grandmother in Speake, Alabama ruined an unwelcomed intruder's Saturday night. According to police reports, a man attempted to break into her home and use a Taser to subdue her. The taser apparently missed and she took care of business. She apparently struck the man with her cell phone and used it as a blunt object to batter the intruder. The woman's granddaughter was also present.
Moral of the story, don't mess with us senior citizens.

Terrelle Pryor, Britney Spears, Roger Clemens Exemplify Media Fed Ego Maniacs In Todays Society ~ Legal Pub
Wonder why athletes in the U.S. get this feeling of entitlement? A feeling that they are above the law. Clearly O.J. Simpson is an example of this syndrome. But where does it all start? Look at high school quarterback Terrelle Pryor. Pryor is considered the top high school athlete and he was expected to choose between rivals Ohio State and Michigan at a nationally televised news conference today. Grown men sit by their computers and televisions awaiting this teenager's decision. (That is right, a high school athlete announcing a decision of where he will attend college on national t.v.) Now he has called the press and told them he is delaying the decision because he wants to visit Penn State. (One can only speculate how soon such high profile athletes will be visiting the State Penn! Society is creating ego fed media monsters and it needs to get back under control.)
With a similar trip down ego lane, Britney Spears' mom has obtained a temporary restraining order against her daughter's manager, Sam Lufti. Lynne Spears accuses Lufti of drugging Britney, cutting Britney's home phone lines and removing her cell phone chargers. According to Lynne, Lufti claims to control "everything." Sure, takes one control freak to recognize another. Just what spoiled, attention seeking Britney needs, more excuses for her behavior.
And in the world of baseball, the hits just keep coming. Roger Clemens testified for five hours to congressional lawyers denying he used performance-enhancing drugs. "It was great to be able to tell them what I've been saying all along - that I've never used steroids or growth hormone," said Clemens. Clemens is a seven-time Cy Young Award winner. Who knows if he took steroids, more importantly why should Congress spend our money finding out? Regardless, given all the media fed ego-maniacs, one must question whether any thing said by such individuals is a product of delusions of grandeur.

50 Cent Slams Paris Hilton's Feelings Or Just Expressing A Safety Issue - by Joey C.
Paris Hilton held a pre Super Bowl party. No representative of Legal Pub was present, but supposedly the party ended up being a big disappointment. Things apparently got ugly when Hilton started dancing in front of partygoers. Paris attempted to dance with 50 Cent (a popular rapper) but he shouted "Get the F--K off my stage." (If those pictured were also dancing on the stage, perhaps it simply a safety issue for the rapper?) Paris supposedly was hurt by 50 cents snub and cried, "... but it's my party." (Or Perhaps Paris was just trying to Karoke "It's My Party and I Will Cry If I Want To" a song from the 60's.
Regardless, 50 Cent and Hilton will remain friends and some day 50 Cent will actually be worth a buck, as such is the way of Hollywood. However, word up to Hilton, next time invite the gang from Legal Pub and we will reinforce the stage and let you and your friends dance.

Phthalates Suspected Of Harming Infant Reproductive System? by Surfer Dude
A new report out of Chicago may indict baby shampoos, lotions and powders as suspects in harming infants! These products may expose infants to chemicals linked with possible reproductive problems. So far it is just one study, however the study does point the finger at phthalates.
Phthalates, are chemicals found in many ordinary products such as cosmetics, toys, vinyl flooring and medical supplies. Pythalates are used to stabilize fragrances and make plastics flexible. What should parents do now? Just use common sense until more is known. To the extent reasonable, limit an infants putting plastic toys in their mouth. Keep perfumes and fragrances away from infants. Don't go over board on the baby powder if for no other reason, it can make you sneeze.
Use common sense and you will not have to share the dunce cap that I had to wear growing up.

Lisa Miceli Teaches Michael Jordan The Price For Being A Ladies Man? ~by Legal Pub
Michael Jordan loves the ladies. Ladies love M.J. So what is the problem? Selection criteria. Obviously M.J. needs to screen his acquisitions a little better before the conquest. M.J. rcently file a lawsuit to stop a woman from harassing him over a claim that he fathered her now three-year-old son. The child has been proved to not be his son. (He does not stick out his tongue when he jumps and he does not have the same DNA according to two separate paternity tests.) Nevertheless, Lisa A. Miceli refuses to believe that Jordan is not the biological father as she allegedly has sent Jordan almost 400 emails and allegedly made hundreds of phone calls since 2005. The messages have allegedly been "increasingly violent and threatening," so Jordan filed the suit to make Lisa stop. Here's a sample of what's in the suit.
Jordan's suit alleges that the notes and phone messages demonstrate Lisa is a seriously disturbed individual. One message suggests that Lisa hopes that he will be murdered and "wiped of" the planet. Some "players" claim that "crazy chicks" are the best lovers. But it is pretty common knowledge that you get what you pay for. Lisa Miceli may be a prime example of Jordan's inferior selection process. Now, if you want to take Ms. Miceli's side on this story, check out her blog: http://mjordanmistress.blogspot.com/ If you still support Lisa on this one after reading her blog, I may have a great real estate investment idea for you in the Congo.

Anna Longinova, Less Than a Beautiful Ending- by Legal Pub
A tale of Beauty and the Beast ended with a less then desirable conclusion. The story starts off with a promise of everything. Aa beautiful woman, a fast car and a near secret agent status. Anna Loginova, a beautiful 29-year-old former model, started a private security firm of female bodyguards. (Anna is pictured in a photo courtesy of Maxim.) She and her employees were trained in martial arts and specialized in protecting Russian billionaires. For example, Anna was body guard to Russian boxer Kostya Tszyu.
Unfortunately, a carjacker threw Loginova out of her Porsche Cayenne Sunday in Moscow. Loginova grabbed onto the door handle and was dragged along the street before letting go. Her fearless but fatal reaction caused her to die at the scene from serious head injuries. The Porsche was later found abandoned in Moscow. Unlike Sleeping Beauty, Beauty and the Beast, and Pretty Woman, this fairy tale has an unhappy ending.
