Was Emma Leigh Barker Murdered At The Hands Of Her Mother, Stacey Marie Barker?

Have the mysteries surrounding 18 month old Emma Leigh Barker's disappearance and death been solved? Her Southern California mother has been charged with her murder. As you may recall, Emma was initially reported missing last month.

24 year-old Stacey Marie Barker originally reported that on March 18, 2009 she was knocked out by an attacker and that her daughter was abducted. She subsequently has recanted the story and led police to her daughter's body.

Emma's body was found in the brush beside a road in the Sylmar area of Los Angeles.
The cause of death appears to be suffocation. Emma most likely died four or five hours after she was reported missing. Barker's brother, Nick, told The Associated Press that his sister claims that the child's death was "an accident." Stacy is being held on $1 million bail. The arraignment is scheduled for May 11.

Stacy is to be presumed innocent unless otherwise proven in a court of law.

This reminds me way too much of the Anthony story. Could young moms like this be craving attention? Are they jeolous or resentful of their kids?

Accidents don't usually just happen in my opinion...

Another cute little girl who lost her life.

Let me tell, you, we know the moon affects us - and of course it does affect tides. Any emergency room worker will tell you that it's "crazy" during full moons.

Given the moons effect, just imagine how much we are affected by our sister planets which, although not as close as our moon, are more massive. They effect us everyday. In March, Mercury was very abrasive in a 45-degree link with Jupiter while squaring Pluto. Folks this is a very bad combination for people of faith.

Pluto also formed a contra-parallel with Vesta - affecting people's ability to care about investments and safety issues. (This may explain the stock market.)

The planetary alignment may have affected Stacey Barker and Melissa Huckaby.

Well, I do Chinese face reading. This is sad :( This is happy :)

Well, I actually do face reading from the orient and I do not find your post funny.

I noticed indentions in Huckaby's forehead, indicating that she is likely to have a strong addictive personality. She may have been repressing for a long time. There

While there are NO excuses for such crimes, sometimes a few bumps or indentations foreshadow great evil deeds.

What is up with these child murders recently. It's like it really sucks to be a little girl right now.

"little kids" are in danger. They can't trust teachers, strangers or even their parents...

LP, latest reports are that Emma was suffocated.
This case is much like the Anthony case in that a young single mother living at home with parents reports daughter kidnapped, daughter ends up dead, mom charged with murder. One difference....Stacey not as accomplished a liar as Casey. :(

Unhappiness in relationships sometimes does play a role in these mishaps.

In the beginning, relationships are great. Everything is fresh & when it's good it's very good. All those endorphins just pouring through your body. But that doesn't last. Not for any relationship. After the newness wheres off, you are left with a flawed human that you've made this lifetime commitment to.

At first, there is shock. Now if you can be happy with the commitment, the security, the love & provide the emotional support to that person along with being strong enough to do the same for yourself then the relationship has a chance.

But it's not easy to be happy or content. For those emotions require you to be able to sit together at the kids soccer game, after dinner walks, talking through a challenge together, and recognize that happy may mean dull, boring, remedial actions with your significant other.

If routine does not make you happy, then you have no chance at a long term relationship. I'm a polly-anna. My folks have been married for almost 60 years. Despite ups and downs, they are so good together...

Personally, I favor contract marriages. 7-10 year renewable contract makes much more sense.

Legal, what would make you delete a comment???

This poor little girl. These stories are so sad.

This is the result of untreated mental health issues.

They keep cutting programs and support systems and wonder why people are acting crazy!!

Secrets, I deleted my own comment....made it...then realized I made darn near the same comment above...DOH!

I second you on the mental health issue and the cuts that have been made. Many end up in jail.

It's unfortunate if that was this girl's problem, her daughter wasn't better protected.

It is beyond my comprehension how some one could take a life, let alone their own daughter's. She was a beautiful little girl...just look at her and think of how brutal someone could be to murder her. I don't care if the mom's are doing it for attention or what but its horrible and completely disgusts me that she will never get to breathe again. I'm so dissapointed in the world today..people killing innocent little girls. These stories just break my heart. To crazy mom's : STOP KILLING YOUR DAUGHTERS

I agree with Brook! Crazy Moms, leave those kids alone!

why can't these girls just leave their daughters off at churches why is death the only option because thats what we're teaching these girls that they have the right to chose and adoption is never really given as a choice. They believe they gave life they can take it away. Too bad these beautiful babies could have been in a happy home so many would have loved to adopt them!

I agree! Adoption is the best option!
