Jiverly Wong's Shooting Spree Warants Congressional Work Besides Granting Posthumous Honorary Citizenship!

Congress is finally starting to act. But what good does granting posthumous honorary citizenship to victims of the April 3, 2009 shooting in Binghamton, New York accomplish? Legislation introduced by Sen Chuck Schumer and Sen. Kristen Gillibrand would award posthumous citizenship to 11 of the victims. (The other two victims, Maria Zobiw and Robeta Bobby King were already U.S. citizens.) As you may recall, Jiverly Wong, 41, walked into the American Civic Association and shot 17 people. Thirteen died before he committed suicide.

It is unclear why the American Civic Association was chosen as the target. The organization helps educate immigrants and refugees. In fact, Wong had taken English classes at the facility. Speculation was that Wong was upset about losing his job and not being able to find suitable employment. So if Congress really wants to do something, why not concentrate on fixing the economy and our unemployment problem?

Wong did the "wong thing."

Sure the economy sucks, but that is no reason to shoot people. Let's not make excuses for their psychotic behavior.
