Prosecutors have brought additional charges against Shelley Malil, the actor who played Haziz in "The 40 Year Old Virgin." Malil is accused of stabbing his ex-girlfriend ( Kendra Beebe) 20 times. Shelley Malil, 43, was charged with residential burglary and assault with a deadly weapon. Prosecutors claim Malil stabbed Beebe with two knives while chasing her around her San Marcos home. A man with Beebe grabbed one knife but Malil picked up another and allegedly continued the attack. Malil previously pleaded not guilty to one count of attempted murder, with a special circumstance of premeditation and one count of personal use of a knife and inflicting great bodily injury. Malil faces life in prison if convicted. Bail has been reduced from $10 million to $3 million. Malil is represented by attorney, Steve Meiser.
Beebe, 35, suffered deep wounds to her lungs and throat but fortunately is expected to recover.
Malil has also appeared in numerous TV shows, including "NYPD Blue" and "Scrubs." Keep in mind, all suspects are assumed to be innocent until otherwise proven in a court of law!
