Can Judge Throw Children in Juvenile Detention For Not Visiting Their Dad? ~by Legal Pub

Michigan can be a cold state.  Oakland County Judge Lisa Gorcyca apparently thinks that children ought to spend time with their fathers whether they like it or not.  Now a group of parents and some kids are criticizing the sentence the Michigan judge gave three children who refused to spend time with their dad.  The children, ages 14, 10 and 9, are in detention at Children's Village until they change their mind about visitation. 
Judge Lisa Gorcyca made it clear that she was not happy about the children disobeying her order allowing their father to be a part of their lives.  The judge told the 14 year-old, "You're supposed to have a high IQ, which I'm doubting right now because of the way you act. You're very defiant. You have no manners."
