Murder At Day Care Exemplifies What's Wrong With Society

The recent murder at a Brooklyn Park, Minnesota daycare exemplifies the violent sickness that has become way too prevalent in the United States. While the identity of the lunatic that killed three adults at the daycare is unknown, when the perpetrator is caught, undoubtedly it will be a crazy man seeking attention who is the culprit. The shootings took place at about 6:30 am on April 9 at Visions and Butterflies Child Care ran by DeLois Brown. A mother who had just dropped off her toddler returned a few minutes later to discover three adults shot dead. Fortunately, the woman's child was not injured and no other children were at the day care at the time.

Police are seeking a suspect in his mid-20s, believed to have fled on a BMX bicycle.
Police canvassed the area and using police dogs to search for the suspect.
The day care is licensed for 12 children. and DeLois Brown, 59, is in good standing, with no adverse rulings or restrictions. Brown has been involved with Pink Purse Project, Inc a women's and girls empowerment organization. She has in the past worked as a child care site supervisor at Osseo Area Schools. Police have not released the identities of the victims or the woman who found the victims; however, it is believed that Brown and her parents may be the victims. DeLois Brown is 59. Her parents, Clover Bolden, 81, and James Henry Bolden, 83, had recently moved from East St. Louis last week to live with Brown, who lost her husband three months ago.

The suspect left the scene on a BMX bicycle. He was seen wearing a blue hoodie jacket and blue jeans. He is described as a thin black male in his early 20's. Police are offering a $10,000 reward for any information leading up to a conviction.

Update 4-11-12: The identities of the victims have been confirmed. DeLois Brown was a a grandmother who ran an in-home day care. She was considered a "second mom" to many. She was also taking care of her aging parents who also died. Police are still searching for a lone suspect.

The killer escaped on a bike ! Does this mean he/she was too young to drive or did not own a car? Or, considered the bike as the best mode of transportation to commit this crime and escape.
There was a bank robber who only robbed banks within walking distance of a bike-path where he kept a bike to make his escape. The guy would walk in to the bank wearing a mask, rob the bank, than just walk away. Had the cops stumped for years as they never had any video surveillance of a get-away car, and no matter how quick they showed up afterwards, the guy seemed to disappear into thin air.

Do you have an address of where this crime was committed? It would be interesting to know if there is a bike-path nearby. A bike is also a better mode of transportation in a heavily populated urban area as one can ride through traffic, yards, and gangways to make an escape, and maybe have a car stashed somewhere else a mile or so away in a less trafficked area.

Sounds like someone took great effort to kill these people…so why? My guess is that the day-care woman was the target and the others happened to be there. If so they prob didn’t know that the parents of this woman had moved in.

Witnesses, including the 911 caller, told police they saw a black man, in his 20s, wearing a blue jacket over a gray hooded sweat shirt, riding away on a BMX-style bicycle (with something under his jacket). Police continue to search for the suspect and have offered a $10,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.

The witness said she seen the same man on foot nearby the Day Care after dropping off her child, and he looked suspicious as to why she called Ms Brown by phone. And in the middle of the conversation the phone went dead, as to why she returned and when she spotted the same man on the BMX bike. Did he arrive by bike and she did not see it, or did he arrive on foot and steal the bike from the Day Care?

I have also read that the police were questioning residence near the intersection of Brooklyn Blvd. and Boone Ave, about a mile to the SW of the day care home. The day care was located on 83rd Ave. For a bicyclists to travel from that location to the Boone Ave location they would travel S on Wyoming Ave about two blocks to a path that leads out past a Walmart parking lot, (maybe they have surveillance video) East on Green Haven Dr a few hundred yards, past a major highway named County Rd 81. than S through Greenhaven park to the intersection of Boone and Brooklyn. The park appears to be a good location for a mountain bike, (according to the map) trails and much foliage, and is a large park.
So…if the cops think he went this way were they looking for witnesses to verifier this was his rout, or do they think he is from this area?
Being that DeLois Brown’s husband recently passed away, I’m thinking this was robbery motivated and the perp thought Ms Brown would be alone with only small children there, but something went wrong. Maybe she recognized the perp? If so I’d be looking for someone who used the Day Care from the area of the mentioned intersection. Not that they would be the perp, but they may have mentioned to a neighbor that their Day Care provider recently lost her husband and is now all alone.

Unless of coarse there is some kind of Day Care war going on there where they are competing for business and a competitor had her assassinated. But for some reason Day Care people don’t impress me as the type to have assassins waiting in the wings…So, I’m thinking robbery.

“There’s a break in I think,” she states. “I just dropped my kid off at daycare and I saw a suspicious guy on a bicycle.”

The woman tells dispatch that she wasn’t sure where the man was so she called Brown to tell her and heard her say “no,” before the phone went dead.

Later, the woman tells dispatch she sees the man riding on his bicycle toward Wal-Mart with something under his coat. She notes that the door to the home is open and tells dispatch she’s going to go inside to make sure everyone is OK.

After asking for “Mrs. Brown” several times with no response and telling dispatch that she can’t find her, she suddenly blurts out, “Oh Jesus Christ, Mrs. Brown, no! No!”

The woman tells dispatch the three victims, Brown and her parents, are in a room, covered in blood and appear to be dead.

Dispatch tells the woman to go outside. The woman is heard crying and saying, “Oh Jesus Christ, why, why, Lord Jesus, why. Oh my God, oh my God …”

You live your whole life trying to do good things...take care of children...elderly parents...and your life gets taken by some thug with a gun on a bicycle.

So freaking senseless.

RIP to the victims, sympathies for their families and friends, and a slow, torturous death to the shooter.
