Pink Floyd warned teachers to "Leave them kids alone;" however, perhaps he should have directed his warning toward priests. A Pennsylvania grand jury report apparently identifies more than 300 "predator priests" who allegedly molested children in six dioceses. Even worse, it accuses the Catholic church of trying to cover up the abuse. The report was generated as a result of a massive investigation of clergy sexual abuse. If it is to be believed, the past has been corrupted with widespread sexual abuse by clergy and concealment of the problem. Allegations were considered that pertained to the dioceses that serve more than half the state's 3.2 million Catholics.
The report apparently identifies more than 300 "predator priests." The report also accuses the Catholic church leaders of ignoring victims in order to protect the church. A redacted version of the report over 850 pages in length is available to the public. Legal Pub cautions that all accused are to be considered innocent unless otherwise proved in court (or the fires of hell.) In the meantime, can children be treated like more than "just another brick in the wall?"
