There may be an alternative way to rise above financial problems. What you need is apparently a good friend, the friend's hot wife and some idiot to publish an adulterous video without your permission. Sound complicated? Perhaps it is and we certainly can't recommend it as a path to success. Nevertheless; it appears that Terry Bollea, aka Hulk Hogan, may never have to worry about money again. Balancing free speech against privacy, a Florida jury found in favor of Hulk Hogan and awarded a stunning $115 million verdict against Gawker. The jury found that Gawker's posting of a Hulk Hogan sex tape in 2012 violated his right to privacy.
Terry Bollea, the Hulkster, filed the lawsuit three years ago after Gawker, a digital news site founded by Nick Denton, published a video the wrestler claimed was secretly recorded. The sex tape allegedly showed the Hulkster having sexual intercourse with Heather Cole. At the time, Cole was the wife of Tampa-area radio shock jock Bubba the Love Sponge (real name: Todd Alan Clem). Gawker also included an article from A.J. Daulerio which discussed celebrity sex and the alleged encounter between Hogan and Cole.
The jury reached its verdict after two weeks of testimony. Gawker founder Nick Denton suggested that the digital news site will appeal the verdict based on Hulk Hogan being a public figure. While we never saw the video, one can imagine it got more views than old WWE footage.
