Dustin Reader Suspended For Supporting His NFL Team?

Some times, school authorities lack common sense. That seems to be the case with Ashley Payne (story below) and with Dustin Reader, a young Cincinnati Bengals fan. Dustin Reader was suspended from school on Nov. 9 because of this haircut. Dustin says his hair cut is not offensive nor is it gang related. Justin says his hair cut merely expresses his support for his beloved team. (Incidentally, Cincinnati had a big win over the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday so the haircut could become even more popular.

School officials in the Ohio city of Hamilton said they prohibit extreme and distracting hairstyles. Seems like school officials simply don't believe in freedom of expression. Shouldn't kids have some rights? Sure, schools need to prohibit outfits advertising gang affiliation. And profanity, certainly that is inappropriate. But a hair cut? Come on, school officials. Get your priorities in order.

School officials are becoming too much like the Gestapo!

Nope. Schools need to crack down and discipline kids because parents aren't doing their job at home.

This is how they do it.

Disenfranshisement....depriving him of the basic right to learn (over a haircut). Something they know he'll need to be successful!

Its BS!!!

This kind of b.s. is why school boards are getting such a bad rep. Ad to it that the President of the Chicago School Board was found near the Chicago river.
Police in Chicago say their investigation continues into the death of Michael Scott, the city's school board president. The autopsy concluded that he shot himself in the head but so far there is no suicide note.

Seems to me school boards ought to be tending to their own mental health needs before they start legislating crap that serves no other purpose other than to hassle students.

Gangs bad. Supporting NFL teams, thats okay and not a subject for school boards to regulate.

Yup, Secrets: It is another example of white males being discriminated against. L.P. you need to lighten up the photo a bit so that others don't jump to conclusions. LOL.
