Taylor Paschal-Placker, 13, and Skyla Whitaker, 11, lives were needlessly taken this week. Both girls were found shot to death in their rural community, along a dirt road. These two friends often used this road to play and to walk to sleepovers. Peter Placker, Taylor's grandfather, found their bodies after Taylor did not answer her cell phone.
The girls were sleeping over at Taylor's house. They decided to walk down the road Sunday afternoon. Peter Placker found the girls' bodies about a quarter of a mile from his house near Weleetka. The girls were each apparently shot multiple times in the head and chest. A $14,000 reward was being offered for information about the killings. Please help authorities bring their killer to justice.
Update 8-14-08: Skyla's autopsy indicates that she was shot eight times in the neck, arms, shoulders, chest and abdomen. There were two different caliber bullets.
"There is one damaged copper coated bullet appearing to be small in size (gunshot wound #8, neck) and [a] damaged copper jacketed bullet appearing to be medium in size (gunshot wound #5, [chest]), recovered," according to the autopsy.
Taylor's autopsy details five separate gunshot wounds to the face, groin and hand.
"The two gunshot wounds of the left side of the face are individually potentially fatal... The gunshot wound of the right cheek may not be fatal with prompt medical intervention. The gunshot wound over the left groin is potentially fatal. There is entrance gunshot wound perforating the right third knuckle and finger with compound fracture."

What a waste!
I suspect a local psycho. My second suspicion would be the girls came upon a drug scene or other crime and were killed.
This was not a well traveled road. The killer was not there by accident.

Aukthorities do not have any suspects or persons of interest. Evidence from the scene, including DNA and ballistics, had been sent to the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation lab.
Authorities were also investigating tire tracks and footprints.
. . . sounds like these little girls saw something they were not supposed to and were simply eliminated. If that's the case I would think it's gonna be really hard to find the killers. So sad.
Mom did it.
Some one will squeal!
There looks like two shooters.
Also Oklahoma has death penalty so someone is likely to squeal!
This story breaks my heart.
I have to agree with Ms. Calabaza on this one. This seems too brutal to be a random shooting.
Those girls must have been petrified.
I hope they catch the bastards that did this.
Trackem down! String em up!
Whoever the person was that shot those girls is very sick.

Very true, B.K.
HOW COULD YOU NOT HEAR A BUNCH OF GUNSHOTS FROM A QUARTER OF A MILE AWAY? HAS ANYBODY LOOKED AT THESE GRANDPARENTS? I FOUND A PICTURE OF TAYLOR WITH HER GRANDPARENTS ONLINE, SHE LOOKS SO UNCOMFORTABLE NEXT TO HER GRANDFATHER WITH HIS ARM AROUND HER, LIKE SHE DOESN'T WANT TO BE THERE. SOMETHING AIN'T RIGHT HERE.
Haven't seen any photos. Email them to legalpub@legalpub.net
and see if the L.P. will post them.
I did hear the 911 call. The woman was hysterical. Not sure it contains any clues as to who the killer might be.
As I understand it, 500 leads have been investigated. Over 100 persons of interest have been ruled out. I am less optomistic about a quick resolution on this one.
You know, from what I've heard they have a methamphetamine problem in that town, and a lot of backwoods rednecks like to cook their meth way out in the woods. The description of that road sounds like a meth cookers wet dream. Its likely those poor girls stumbled upon some geeked out crazy person cooking meth and just saw too much.
I just cant fathom how anyone would kill two small children, they're practically still babies. People in this world nowadays never fail to make me sick.
tragic killing

Very cruel!
Do you have copy writer for so good articles? If so please give me contacts, because this really rocks! :)
Not much concrete evidence has recently surfaced in this case. There has been some speculation as to theories. One reader believes ESP has lead him to clues that may be of interest.
Unfortunately, there simply is no credible evidence that has surfaced and it is unlikely that this crime will be solved anytime soon.
