Teacher David Grant Accused of Striking 8 Year Old Student

"Be thankful that it is not another teacher sleeping with a student."
"Is that suppose to make it all seem better?"

The couple were discussing the latest alleged teacher mishap down in Florida. David Adam Grant, an elementary school teacher, was arrested by Fort Lauderdale police for punching an 8-year-old student in the face.

Grant, a 36 year old art teacher at Sunland Elementary School, surrendered to the police Tuesday in connection with the November 5 incident. According to police, a "preliminary investigations revealed that an 8-year-old student ... had been battered."

  1. This man should not be teaching if he struck this child!

  2. It is inexcusable for a teacher to hit a student!

  3. The little brat probably had it coming to him!

Let's wait to hear the teacher's story.

  4. There's a lot more to the story than what most news sites choose to report:

"I didn't notice the bruise on his eye until he came back from football practice," said Jennifer Brazzel, the child's mother. "I was like, 'Ronnie, come here. What happened to your eye?'"

"He goes, 'Oh, the art teacher beat me up.' And I said, 'What do you mean, the art teacher beat you up?'" Jennifer Brazzel said.

    The third-grader continued the story.

"I fell down. (He) hit me with his left hand," Ronald Brazzel said."

My own brother used to play football and he would come home bruised from head to foot. The kid probably got it from there, then used the earlier incident where he fell down and the teacher 'hit him with his left hand' to justify the wound. Oh and parents really do have a way of manipulating their children to twist an incident into something worse than what originally happened.

  5. I doubt some "pansy art teacher" beat up a football player. Even if the kid was only 8, I think it is made up. "Art teachers" just don't go around beating up kids.

  6. I agree with the above. Probably got hurt in football and is trying to blame it on the art teacher.

  10. Another example of black on white crime. Can you image the riots if it was the other way around?

  11. I suspected that Legal Pub did not post a photo of the defendant because he did not want to emphasize the race issue...
