Last night the Navy hit a disabled satellite with a Missile. While China watches for dangerous fallout, Russia claims it was a cover up of the real motive to test the missile defense system. Mean while, a Missouri teen ager is experiencing the fall out from apparently trying to put a "hit" on his adopted parents. Jacob A. Jett, 18 is a high school senior. Jett is accused of trying to pay hit men $260 to kill his adoptive parents, Richard and Robyn Parnell. Many people including the Parnells are surprised because he had always been a "very good child." Jett allegedly gave the money and three handguns to two men as part of the plot to kill Richard and Robyn Parnell. "He thought they were too strict" and wanted to inherit money according to the Jackson County prosecutor, Jim Kanatzar.
Joseph R. Garcia, a fellow student is accused of introducing Jett to the would-be hit men. Jett and his friend were charged with second-degree attempted murder and armed criminal action. Jett and Garcia are held in lieu of $250,000 cash bonds. Both are presumed innocent until otherwise proven in a court of law.
Finally, speaking of parenting, there was a false sighting of the missing McCann child in France.

Russia says the U.S. military's plan to shoot down a spy satellite hurtling toward Earth is a veiled test of their missile system.
ReplyDeleteA statement released Saturday by Russia's Defence Ministry said the Pentagon failed to provide "enough arguments" for why it plans to demolish the satellite.
"There is an impression that the United States is trying to use the accident with its satellite to test its national anti-missile defence system's capability to destroy other countries' satellites," the ministry said.
But the Bush administration said the operation is not a test of the defence system aimed at shooting down missiles in space before they enter American airspace.
The U.S. has said the operation is aimed at protecting people from the bus-sized satellite, carrying 450 kilograms of toxic fuel, headed toward Earth.
If nothing is done, the satellite is expected to hit Earth around the first week of March.
