Martha Rivera Alanis Cares By Protecting Her Students.

A Mexican governor from the northern state of Nuevo Leon awarded kindergarten teacher Martha Rivera Alanis an award for her "outstanding civic courage" in her protecting her class from collateral damage from a nearby gunfight in Monterrey. Rivera Alanis used her cell phone to tape a video, in which she is heard coaxing the class to lie flat on the floor.
"No, my love, nothing is going to happen, just put your little face on the floor," Rivera Alanis told one worried little pupil. Loud gunfire is heard on the video. Paramedics later confirmed the gunfire was from the slaying of five people at a nearby taxi stand.

On the video, this fantastic teacher distracts the kids by leading them in a song. LINK.

  2. Wow…drug wars I guess. As George Carlin once said, “Want to end the war on drugs, start stringing up the Wall Street Bankers who launder the drug money and it will end tomorrow”

  5. About Michelle Hoang Thi Le.
    I found this here: http://websleuths.com/forums/showthread.php?t=137981

(Immediately I think of Phuong Le. She was a recently graduated nurse who was abducted from a Barnes and Noble parking lot and murdered a year ago. That happened only about 50 miles from where Michelle is missing. Phuong's case has not been solved so her attacker could still be on the loose.)

  8. Wash your food before you eat it! Even the packaged butcher cut meats you buy. People cough, sneeze, touch things, than the product, without any harmful intentions. And especially produce, 30 people may have handled that tomato before you decided to buy it and statistics show, as many as 80% of humans DO NOT wash their hands after visiting the rest room...

...be careful whose hand you shake!

(The WHO recommends that to avoid food-borne illnesses, people wash their hands, keep raw meat separate from other foods, thoroughly cook their food, and wash fruits and vegetables, especially if eaten raw. Experts also recommend peeling raw fruits and vegetables if possible.)

(Some scientists suspect the deadly E. coli might have been in manure used to fertilize vegetables.)

  11. Eat at home or bring your lunch till this thing is under control...better than the illness that sounds painful.

I got salmonella once from eating some cottage cheese at a restaurant. It was served from a salad bar that did not keep it cold enough...I thought it tasted funny but did not trust my instincts and ate it anyway.
