Mass Murderer on the Loose Creating a New Norm? ~by Legal Pub

Is there a new norm due to a mad killer on the loose? People are dieing and as a result remote working because of COVID-19 may becoming the norm.  But why?  This is a new illness that can affect your lungs and airways. It's caused by a virus called coronavirus.  But what the heck is it and how do you know if you have it?

Symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19) are a cough, a high temperature and shortness of breath. Simple measures like washing your hands often with soap and water can help slow or possibly even stop viruses like coronavirus (COVID-19) spreading.
The bad news is that prevention is important because there’s no specific treatment for coronavirus (COVID-19).Treatment is palliative in nature and designed only to relieve the symptoms until you recover or die. It's not a pleasant thought.  No one known exactly how coronavirus (COVID-19) spreads from person to person, but similar viruses are spread in cough droplets.  The same is probably true for this killer.
As of yesterday, the score card looks something like this:
PlacesCasesDeathsRecovered
China80,8813,22668,709
Italy27,9802,1582,749
Iran16,1699885,389

Guess this qualifies as a mass murderer!  Be smart. Be safe.

Florida Deputy Charged with Crimes for Failure to Take Action! ~by Legal Pub

Scot Peterson was a 56 year-old Broward County Deputy.  Prosecutors allege that the Florida deputy who failed to confront the gunman during last year’s Parkland massacre.  Peterson now faces 11 charges.  State Attorney Mike Satz believes that Scot Peterson committed child neglect, culpable negligence and perjury charges for conduct arising out of his failure to confront the gunman.

Peterson was on duty during the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School.  He failed to enter the building ot confront the gunman.  Peterson faces the possibility of a combined prison sentence of nearly 100 years. Bail was set at $102,000.  Peterson's lawyer has not yet made a public statement.

Meanwhile, scum bucket twenty-year-old Nikolas Cruz faces the death penalty if convicted of killing 17 people and wounding 17 others in the attack. Cruz' offer to plead in return for a life sentence has been rejected by prosecutors.

Stay tuned.

When is Enough Enough? Come on Lamar.. ~ by Legal Pub

Former NBA star, Lamar Odom has a secret.  Only, it is not really a secret.  Odom was previously married to Khloe Kardashian.  However, the couple allegedly split up after allegations of cheating surfaced. Why did the couple split?  Odom recently went public and admits that he has quite a sexual history.  In Odom's new memoir, Darkness to Light, he admits to being a sex addict.

"I am a sex addict...I have been obsessed with sex for as long as I can remember," Odom writes in excerpts published by People.   Odom is only 39 years-old.  Nevertheless, he claims that he has slept with more than 2,000 women some of whom he paid for the sexual encounters.  Depending where he paid for the encounters, he may have admitted to one or more crimes.  Talk about an admission against interest.

Regardless of the actual number or potential to have admitted to a crime, Odom should seek some serious healthcare consultant, and we don't mean a surrogate.

New Zealand Idiot Murderer Fails to Demonstrate Reason~ by Legal Pub

At least 48 people were shot at in New Zealand by 28-year-old, Brenton Tarrant.  Worse yet, Tarrant videoed the shooting at the mosques live, in real time. Tarrant, today, has been charged with murder.
Police found two explosive devices found in Tarrant's vehicle, but the assault rifle was his weapon of choice.  This is nothing short of premeditated murder as Tarrant posted his plans on social media before livestreaming the murder.

Social Media Stream
Three other people were taken into custody.  It is unclear what if any role they played in aiding the murderer.  Tarrant is an extremist with an axe to grind against immigrants.  Most of the victims were immigrants.  Tarrant published a 74-page anti-immigrant manifesto prior to the attack explaining why he was going to attack the immigrants. Tarrant claims he was inspired by Norwegian shooter Anders Breivik.  Idiots of a feather, flock together...

Catholic School Teacher Fired After Same-Sex Marriage ~by Legal Pub

Teachers rarely choose education as a means to money.  Generally speaking, they are overworked and under paid.  Nevertheless, teachers sign contracts like everyone else, they make choices as to where they wish to work.  When one chooses to work for a private Catholic school, one does so under the agreement that their rules will be followed.  Families at St. Peter and Paul Catholic School in Miami, Florida, are disappointed after the firing of teacher Jocelyn Morffi.  Morffi was a 32 year-old teacher who was well liked by both students and parents. For example, Jocelyn Morffi was instrumental in setting up a volunteer program at the local homeless shelter.  Parents and students volunteered both time and talent.

While on personal leave from school, Jocelyn got married to another woman.  When the Catholic school found out about the same sex marriage from social media photos, they terminated Morffi's employment contract. (Same sex marriage being contrary to Catholicism, the School felt it had no option other than to terminate Morffi's employment.  Jocelyn wrote on her social media account:  “This weekend I married the love of my life and unfortunately I was terminated from my job as a result. In their eyes, I’m not the right kind of Catholic for my choice in partner.”

The law recognizes that Catholic schools have a right to enter contractual agreements consistent with their beliefs.  According to the Catholic school board,  Morffi violated her contract and thus had to be terminated.  Fortunately for Morffi, the public school system has no such rules.

Outrageous post designed to generate publicity?  Nope!  You couldn't make this stuff up even if you tried. Times are changing but not as fast as technology.  The Japanese have created robots so similar to human's that sex orientated businesses want to cash in.  Some of the so called moral majority want to end such practices before they get started.  Suddenly Houston, a progressive city, is thrust into the national spotlight. Mayor Sylvester Turner wants the City Council to modify Houston's rules on sexually oriented businesses in order to prevent a "robot brothel" from opening.

The move will not be unopposed.  Toronto company, KinkySdollS previously announced the plan to open the Houston branch where "adult love dolls" constructed of synthetic skin would be available "to rent before" purchase.   As the storefront was being constructed, City inspectors shut it down claiming the Richmond and Chimney Rock location did not have the proper permits.  The Houston City Council must now decide if the sexually oriented business regulations will permanently bar the opening of the store.  Strip clubs have been barred from operating within 1,500 feet of schools, churches, daycares, parks and residential areas.  Council members such as Mike Laster want to do the same with the robot business since the proposed store is close to Anderson Park. "District J deserves better" is the repeated battle cry.

Adult "arcade device" is a tricky definition to comprehend but it likely will be construed to include more than peep shows.  The dolls cost $4,000, a steep price for most.  Thus the appeal for rental of the anthropomorphic machines.  While sales will may be permitted, the ban of the storefront and rental will clearly hurt KinkySDollS if the City of Houston is successful. ......................................

(Bridget, pictured above is $3,200.  KinkySdollS website says: they are the "first Adult Love Dolls Rent before you buy service in North America. We offer a unique service for those looking for a companion." )

Leave Them Kids Alone... ~by Legal Pub

Pink Floyd warned teachers to "Leave them kids alone;" however, perhaps he should have directed his warning toward priests.  A Pennsylvania grand jury report apparently identifies more than 300 "predator priests" who allegedly molested children in six dioceses.  Even worse, it accuses the Catholic church of trying to cover up the abuse. The report was generated as a result of a massive investigation of clergy sexual abuse.  If it is to be believed, the past has been corrupted with widespread sexual abuse by clergy and concealment of the problem.  Allegations were considered that pertained to the dioceses that serve more than half the state's 3.2 million Catholics.
The report apparently identifies more than 300 "predator priests." The report also accuses the Catholic church leaders of ignoring victims in order to protect the church. A redacted version of the report over 850 pages in length is available to the public.  Legal Pub cautions that all accused are to be considered innocent unless otherwise proved in court (or the fires of hell.)  In the meantime, can children be treated like more than "just another brick in the wall?"

DNA is Turning the Tide in Solving Cold Cases ~by Legal Pub

photoDNA is a game changer!  The Golden State Killer was a serial killer stopped in his tracks by DNA. The GSK, otherwise known as 72 year-old Joseph James DeAngelo Jr., was recently fingered for serial murders based upon sophisticated DNA technology. DeAngelo may be tried for as many as 12 murders and 46 rapes that occurred over a time span of  1976 to 1986 in the California area. DeAngelo may never have been caught in the absence of advancement in DNA analysis.  Similarly, the Grim Sleeper, another deranged individual, was allegedly caught because of DNA left on a slice of pizza.
Now we turn to our most recent miraculous DNA fingering in Indiana where Johnny Miller joins the list of accused based on DNA analysis.  Miller allegedly confessed to raping and strangling April Tinsley in 1988.  Tinsley was only 8-years-old.  Apparently, Millers's DNA was left on April's body as well as on threatening notes he used to taunt authorities.  CeCe Moore, a genealogist, allegedly helped track down Miller as a probable suspect.  Similar techniques are used to help an adoptee track down his or her natural parents.  Using public data bases, a family tree can be used to locate a person's identity based upon age, physical traits, and location.
Fort Wayne Police and Indiana State Police detectives had John D. Miller under surveillance at his mobile home in the 13700 block of Main Street in Grabill. Contrary to some of the poster's theories, he lived alone. On July 6, police secretly collected trash from Miller’s residence which included three used condoms. Indiana State Police Laboratory analyzed for DNA. On July 9, Indiana State Police lab confirmed that the DNA profile extracted from the condoms in Miller’s trash matched the DNA profiles of the condoms found in 2004 and the DNA found in Tinsley’s underwear. Game over. Fort Wayne Police Det. Brian Martin and Indiana State Police Det. Clint Hetrick arrested Miller at his home. When police asked him if he knew why they wanted to talk with him, Miller reportedly said, “April Tinsley.”

The Zodiac Killer, accused of killing many in the Northern California region remains at large.  Given the increasing popularity of "familial DNA" and public websites, it is only a matter of time before law enforcement will have access to almost everyone's DNA.  Gven the advances of DNA forensics, this Zodiac Killer psycho will likely be apprehended soon.

All suspects must be presumed innocent unless otherwise convicted in a court of law!

President Trump is Not the Only Person Who Tweets ~by Legal Pub

Pauley Perrette tweets.  She has left a twitter impression that she quit the show NCIS after 15 seasons because of more than one "physical assault."  CBS Television Studios has responded with its own press release:  "Pauley Perrette had a terrific run on NCIS and we are all going to miss her... Over a year ago, Pauley came to us with a workplace concern.  We took the matter seriously and worked with her to find a resolution. We are committed to a safe work environment on all our shows."
Perrette played forensic scientist Abby Sciuto.  She was a popular character whose last appearance on the popular show recently occurred.   Pauley Perrette felt the need to inform her followers on twitter that the "tabloid articles out there that are telling total lies about me."
Perrette also tweeted that "a very rich, very powerful publicity 'machine'"  was spreading false information about her.  Pauley Perrette
Pauley Perrette has not publicly identified who allegedly assaulted her. For more information as it develops, follow Pauley Perrette twitter account.

Canada Has Cowardly Idiots Too! ~by Legal Pub

What have we learned about Alek Minassian?  That Canada has idiot cowards too.  The 25 year-old intentionally drove a rented van onto a pedestrian walk way on Yonge Street in Canada killing ten people and injuring several others.

Courtesy of LinkedIn, the murderer is pictured below.

Why does a murder like Alek Minassian even have a LinkedIn profile? The accused claims to be a student at Seneca College in North York (North of Toronto). He apparently had no criminal record.
Prior to his arrest, Minassian lived in Richmond Hill a suburb of Toronto.  The heinous actions of Minassian apparently injured 15 people along with killing another ten.  Many of the victims have yet to be identified. One of the first of the deceased identified was beautiful Anne Marie D'Amico who worked at Invesco, an investment management company. D'Amico also volunteered on a humanitarian housing project in developing countries.
It is unknown whether Minassian knew any of the victims or what the hell he was thinking when he killed these innocent people. Toronto Police Chief Mark Saunders was unwilling to speculate about a motive.  However, he labeled Minassian's actions as "deliberate."  Other anonymous sources suggest that the accused was a social misfit like mass murderer "Elliot Rodger" who was routinely rejected by women. Others simply suggest that he was a loner.
Cellphone video on social media shows a man stepping out of a white van with a damaged front end that is stopped on the sidewalk. He appears to yell, "Kill me!"

00:00
 01:29
Minassian is scheduled to make a court appearance Tuesday at 10 a.m. ET.  While he must be presumed innocent until otherwise shown in a court of law, this individual needs to be made an example of how cowards should be punished if he is convicted.

When Will School Madness Stop? ~by Legal Pub

When will the madness stop?  Shooting up a school is a cowardly way to deal with one's problems.  Great Mills High School is the latest to experience a shooting.  The school security guard shot and killed an armed student who shot two other students. St. Mary's County Sheriff Tim Cameron said the school resource officer shot the assailant in a hallway just before classes began. The shooter was armed with a handgun.  The gunman was pronounced dead, and the officer was not injured.   A male student, 14, is in stable condition.  Unfortunately, a 16 year-old female student, is in critical condition.
Suddenly the news is no longer shocking.  After all, this is the 17th school shooting in the United States since January 1!  When does the madness stop?  This involved a pistol, not an assault rifle.  There does not appear to be an easy way to educate young people that this is not an appropriate way to solve problems. A shooter of unarmed students is not a hero.  Seeking counseling.  Seek help.  After that, if you still need to end your own life, end it without harming others.  Perhaps then you will be properly mourned.  But to end your life as a murderer is not only a waste of your life, it is a waste of humanity.

    25th Amendment v. Fire & Fury ~by Legal Pub

Politics is a topic Legal Pub prefers to avoid.  But Rule of Law requires educated citizens and electorate.  Consequently, when mainstream media starts to spread misleading information about "law," education is in order. What is all the rage about the 25th Amendment to the United State Constitution?  "Fire and Fury" a controversial book by Michael Wolff indicates that the amendment was brought up "all the time" in the White House.  Steve Bannon suggest it is a plausible way that President Donald Trump may be forced to step down.  So what is this amendment?  On its face, it a mechanism to remove a President who has impaired mental faculties
More specifically, Section 4 of the 1967 amendment, allows for the vice president plus a majority of either a president's Cabinet or Congress to transmit to the Senate president pro tempore and the House speaker "their written declaration that the president is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office."  A sitting U.S. president may; however, inform the Senate president pro tempore and House speaker that no such inability exists. The president would then remain in office unless the vice president and a majority of the Cabinet or Congress provides those members of Congress with a written declaration that the president is still unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office.  This puts the matter before Congress.
Once before Congress, both chambers of Congress must vote on whether the president is able to carry out his duties. A two-thirds vote in both chambers is required to remove the president from office. In reality, it is unlikely that a Cabinet would ever initiate such a proceeding.  Furthermore, nothing in the 25th Amendment contains a means to prevent a sitting president from firing Cabinet members who feel he is unfit to serve.  Consequently, the only likely way to remove a sitting president under the 25th Amendment would be if the procedure was initiated by Congress and had a 2/3 vote of the Congress agreeing to the removal.
So, when Steve Bannon says the 25th Amendment is the biggest threat to the Trump presidency, was is all just a ploy to sell books?

Roy Moore "No More?" ~~by Legal Pub

Will Roy Moore drop out of the Senate race?  Probably not since he is not a quitter.  But this is the Democrats chance to prevent the Republicans from advancing their agenda and Doug Jones thinks he can win and he is not alone.  “This is our only opportunity, we need to seize it.” said more than one Democrat when discussing the race between Republican Roy S. Moore and the Democrat Doug Jones. Roy Moore has always been controversial.  Now he has been accused of numerous unwanted advances toward numerous young women and girls, one as young as 14.   The Birmingham News on Sunday ran a front page headline:  “Stand for Decency, Reject Roy Moore.”

Doug Jones is trying to capture the black vote and moderate white Republicans who are disappointed against the alleged conduct of Moore. Mr. Jones’s is ahead even in counties that voted 65 percent or more for President Trump. The path to victory for Mr. Jones includes capturing Shelby County voter support.  But some of the voters may resist the switch in party affiliation.   “I question why these allegations didn't come out during the primary if they were true,"  exclaimed one potential voter to Legal Pub.  In the end, voters need to decide if the allegations warrant the Republicans from losing the Senate.

To demonstrate what a large victory this would be, consider that the Democrats did not even put up a nominee for the United States Senate seat that Mr. Jones seems destined to capture.  Polls have Jones leading by 10%.  If this holds true, chalk one up for the power of the press in helping the Democrats recapture a Senate seat.

A Dog's Life of Starvation `by Legal Pub

This is not unique to Tennessee.  Nino's tale is common in all parts of the country.  The simple truth is that humans sometimes exercise poor judgment when it comes to their pets.  We have all heard of the story of animals being left in a hot car. These stories almost garner as much attention as the death of a child locked in a hot car.  Well, Nino's story is similar but it occurs in a back yard.

You see, Nino was discovered after law enforcement received a call about a dog left in a backyard.  Authorities discovered that Nino was in bad condition and his survival doubtful. He was literally skin and bones with no visible fat. In sum, Nino was nearly starved to death.  Fortunately, he was taken into the care of the Memphis Animal Services and is now doing well.  The good news is that his appetite, sleep and stamina have returned to normal. .
The bad news is that the police have arrested Kellen Jones, 27, who apparently was the owner of the dog. Jones allegedly told police that he could not afford to take care of the dog.  (Jones apparently had been away for as much as three months)  Photos suggest it is a miracle that the dog survived.  Jones is charged with felony animal cruelty. Video Link.  He is of course presumed innocent until otherwise proven in a court of law.

Charlie Gard Legal Challenge Ends ~by Legal Pub

Poor little Charlie.  Apparently, his time on this earth is about to end. Chris Gard and Connie Yates, parents of little Charlie Gard are ending the legal fight to obtain treatment.  The legal battle has lasted five months and in the eyes of the parents, "a whole lot of time has been wasted."  In the couples view, the time it has taken to decide the matter in the courtroom has caused irreparable damage and that the chances for recovery are now nil.  The parents were admirably represented by barrister, Grant Armstrong.  The latest medical reports show irreparable damage to the the muscle tissue of and organs of the infant. The couple hope to set up a foundation in Charlie's name that might help similarly situated children.

Charlie Gard's parents end legal battle saying 'time has run out' for him
     (Picture: PA)

Connie Yates hugged her husband Chris Gard as she told the court that they had decided it was no longer in the best interests of their 11-month-old baby to pursue an experimental treatment in the U.S.
Consequently, the legal challenge to keep little Charlie alive has ended.

Four Men Who Deserved Better ~by Legal Pub

Four young men have mysteriously disappeared within days of each other in Bucks County, Pennsylvania.  Are the disappearances related?  If so who is responsible?  While Police don't have all of the answers, they do suspect foul play.  Authorities also believe there is a connection between the disappearances. But what?  So far the police have shared very little specifics with the public.
We know that 19-year-old college student, Jimi Patrick, was reported missing last Wednesday. Two days later, Dean Finocchiaro, 18, got into a friend's car and no one has heard from Dean in days. Shortly thereafter, 22-year-old Mark Sturgis and 21-year-old Tom Meo, failed to report to their jobs.  Fortunately a cellphone ping associated with Dean led authorities to search a farm owned by Cosmo DiNardo.  In close proximity, Meo's car was found in a shack. DiNardo was charged with a gun related charge and is being held on one million dollar bond.  (He has not been charged with the disappearance of the men.)

Where there is smoke, there is usually fire. What does DiNardo know about the missing men?  If he has shared anything with the police, they are not telling the public.  But, a million dollar bond seems to send a message that authorities think he knows something about these men.  Nevertheless, all suspects and persons of interest are presumed innocent unless otherwise proven in a court of law. Stay tuned.

Update 7-13-17:  A mass grave was found with human remains.  Apparently, DiNardo is also accused of attempting to sell a Nissan car belonging to one of the men.

Gruesome Twosome in Snohomish County? ~by Legal Pub

Somethings are just plain gross. What we know is that Deborah Jeanneret, age 50, was stabbed to death and her body was found under a mattress.   Carl Bustard is accused of murder; however, he denies the crime and claims he has an alibi.  Co-defendant Tammie Lewis is alleged to be an accomplice to the homicide.  Bustard's attorney said in court, "My client was not anywhere near the scene where the homicide allegedly took place.”

Jeanneret, the victim, and her roommate were allowing Tammie Lewis to live in their residence. However, Bustard who was a friend of Lewis was not welcome in the home. According to probable cause information, Lewis allegedly told police that Jeanneret struck Bustard on the top of his head when he refused to her residence.  Bustard then allegedly retaliated by stabbing Jeanneret. According to Lewis, Bustard allegedly forced her to clean up the mess and help hide Jeanneret's body under a mattress.  The body was apparently discovered almost a week later by a roommate and reported in a 911 call.  (Can you imagine the smell!)

Bustard was apprehended in Marysville.  In his car, police found nitrile gloves, bleach and an enhanced driver’s license.  Busard’s attorney explained that her client had just returned from a road trip with family and had not been in Everett the day of the murder.  She further argued that the gloves and bleach were for cleaning a boat.  The enhanced driver’s license was for a trip to Canada.
Nevertheless, the judge found probable cause and set bond at $5 million for Busard.  Lewis is held on $250,000 bond.

Both Bustard and Lewis are both presumed innocent unless otherwise proven in a court of law!

Melissa Smith Thwarts Carjacking ~by Legal Pub

Melissa Smith is a reluctant car enthusiast.  It appears that she chose to risk her life in order to save her SUV. In reality, she confronted a would-be car thief because she was in a "I'm not dealing with this sort of crap today" attitude.  That is the reason Melissa jumped on her vehicle's hood and refused to get off until the carjacker gave up.
The Milwaukee, Wisconsin gas station incident illustrates growing danger at the pump. Below is CNN coverage of the incident.
The carjacker eventually gives up but he still ends up with her purse and cell phone.  While Smith is now a news media darling, her actions probably were not the safest course of action.  Presumably the video is clear enough that it will wind up in a conviction of at least the accomplice who drove the get-away car.

Steve Stephens, FaceBook Killer, on the Run! ~by Legal Pub

Steve Stephens, 37, is another idiot.  He may at one time been a nice kind man, but all that goes out the window after he murdered 74-year-old Robert Godwin and then showed the video on FaceBook.  Stephens is attempting to shift the blame for his action on a "woman."   Stephens may have a bad former girlfriend, but that is no reason to kill someone. Stephens is not the first to be jilted by a lover nor will he be the last. A broken heart is never a reason to kill. (Stephens claims he has killed several people; however, only one murder has been confirmed.) Cleveland police were appalled by Stephens posting a video of the killing on Facebook which was apparently seen by millions.
Godwin's daughter, Tonya Godwin-Baines said Monday that the family forgives the killer.  CNN-affiliate WJW    While the family of the victim might offer mercy, the legal system will not.  Cold blooded killing may not be tolerated in a civilized world.
Stephens needs to turn himself in to authorities before he makes a bad situation worse.
